“3x2" denotes the joist size in inches, equating to 47 x 75mm in metric measurements. However, CLS is planed on all sides to achieve an even and uniform finish, resulting in a "finished" size slightly smaller of approx 38mm x 63mm, to ensure consistency throughout. This slight variance is typical in CLS timber and tends to lend itself specifically to structural projects where plasterboard etc will be applied to the structure.

C16 CLS Studwork Timber is commonly employed in constructing timber-framed homes, including applications such as stud walling, carcassing, interior framing, and partitioning. Our untreated 3x2CLS Timberis best suited for internal applications unless a appropriate treatment is applied. If your project might encounter moisture or pest concerns, opting for treated timber could be more suitable. Treated timber is better equipped for outdoor projects such as decking, roofing, and similar endeavors.
